Preliminary hearing scheduled for Castor man charged in ‘historic’ sexual assault investigation
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a central Alberta man accused in what police called a historic sexual assault investigation.
Darcy Falkenberg, 49, a resident of Castor, is scheduled to find out in Coronation Court of Justice on Dec. 4, 2026, if his case has enough evidence to go to trial.
It was on Jan. 10, 2024, when Coronation RCMP received a complaint about a series of alleged sexual assaults that began in 2008.
With assistance from Consort RCMP and the RCMP K Division Sexual Assault Review Team, further investigation revealed a second victim, but the RCMP believes more victims have not come forward.
