Red Deer region unemployment rate decreases in June
The provincial job numbers are in for June, and Red Deer’s unemployment rate has decreased from 6.7 per cent in May to 6.3 per cent.
However, according to the Alberta Labour Force Statistics, it’s up slightly from the seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate reported in April for Red Deer at 6.2 per cent.
The seasonally unadjusted three-month moving average in other economic regions in Alberta includes a 7.2 per cent unemployment rate in Edmonton, down from 7.4 per cent last month, and a 7.0 per cent rate in Calgary, down from 7.2 per cent in May.
Meantime, Alberta’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 7.0 per cent, down 0.4 percentage points from the month before and up 0.2 percentage points from the same month last year.
