Innisfail High School graduate launches fire cadet program
An Innisfail High School graduate from 2018 has decided to give back to the school by launching a program aimed at helping students get a head start.
Kayla Ainscough, who became a primary care paramedic, 911 dispatcher, and volunteer firefighter after high school, launched a fire cadet program at the high school.
She and her dad, Tim, who are both firefighters and NFPA-certified instructors, approached the school about launching the program.
Teacher Joy Milne helped get the program off the ground, but a benefit for the school was that no classroom teacher was needed to run it.
