Tourism Red Deer launches free ‘Tourism Academy’

“By making destination knowledge accessible, practical, and free, we’re empowering the people on the front lines of our industry to confidently share what makes our region such a vibrant and welcoming place to visit. When our residents and hospitality partners feel informed and proud of where they live, that energy is passed directly on to every visitor who comes through our doors.”

Participants who complete the program are recognized as official “Red Deer Experts,” and will receive a commemorative pin and certificate acknowledging their achievement and contribution to the local visitor experience.

Tourism Red Deer is challenging organizations to complete the program:

• First Business to Complete (min. 5 people): Wins a Canyon Coaster ride experience (maximum 10 participants)

• First Hotel to Complete (min. 5 people): Wins an experience at Boardwalk Entertainment (maximum 10 participants)

• First Organization (example: Red Deer Polytechnic/Red Deer Chamber of Commerce/City of Red Deer/ Red Deer County, min. 5 people) to Complete: Wins an Oktoberfest Experience, your choice of event either Gerry Dee on October 1 or Oktoberfest Party Night on October 3, 2026 (maximum 16 participants)

• Residents (June–September completions): Monthly draw winners receive a swag bag and $100 local attraction gift card (1 draw/ winner per month)

• First Event Producer to Complete: Wins a swag bag and $100 local restaurant gift card

• First RDP Student (in September) to Complete : Wins a swag bag and a $100 local attraction gift card
