Wolf Creek Public Schools announced they’ve hired Kassie Erickson as the new coordinator of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with the education services team.

She currently serves as a lead teacher in the Literacy Numeracy Achievement Project with Edmonton Public Schools and brings experience to the role as an instructional leader, teacher, and collaborative coach. She also teaches in the Interactions Program at Youngstown School.

Throughout her career, her work accomplishments include leading curriculum implementation, facilitating professional learning, mentoring teachers in the use of high-impact instructional strategies, and supporting the implementation of Alberta’s new curriculum.

She has also helped improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for students through evidence-based instructional practices.

“Kassie is a highly respected educator whose passion for teaching and learning is evident in everything she does,” said Kevin Newman, Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, in a media release. “Her ability to build trusting relationships, support educators, and focus on meaningful outcomes for students makes her an excellent addition to the Education Services team.”

Erickson is also a strong advocate for inclusive education and, most recently, supported the development and implementation of a specialized Interactions classroom focused on literacy and numeracy development for students on the autism spectrum.

“As a former Wolf Creek student, I am honoured and proud to be joining the Wolf Creek Public Schools team,” said Erickson. “I look forward to working alongside dedicated educators, building meaningful relationships, and supporting the success and belonging of every student.”
