Charge withdrawn for Red Deer man charged in local homicide
One count of accessory to murder has been withdrawn against a man charged in a Red Deer homicide two years ago.
Corey Duane Archer, 49, of Red Deer, had his charge withdrawn on Jan. 5, 2026. He was previously scheduled for a jury trial in Red Deer Court of King’s Bench from April 13-24, 2026.
According to the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS), after reviewing all the available evidence, the Crown prosecutor determined there was no reasonable likelihood of conviction and the charge against Corey Archer was withdrawn.
Archer’s co-accused, Lance Michael Bilsky, 47, of Red Deer, was later sentenced in Red Deer Court of King’s Bench on Feb. 23, 2026, to 13 years in jail. He also received a lifetime firearm prohibition during his sentencing.
