Two people are facing murder-related charges in Red Deer, and Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

RCMP say that on March 21, at 3:51 p.m., members received a report of a shooting that had allegedly occurred at an apartment building on Parke Avenue on Red Deer’s north end in the Pines neighbourhood.

When officers arrived, a suspect was observed running from the area, police say.

After a short pursuit on foot, the male was arrested and police say they seized a firearm.

A second male suspect was also located near the scene and arrested.

Other officers arriving on scene located a deceased person, since identified as 54-year-old resident Jason Cory Worobec.

RCMP have charged Red Deer residents Lance Michael Bilsky, 45, and Corey Duane Archer, 46. Bilsky was charged with Second-degree-murder while Archer was charged with Accessory after the fact to Murder.

Both Bilsky and Archer were taken before a justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. Archer will next appear in court on March 25, 2024, while Bilsky will next appear in court on March 27, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.
