Voyent Alert!

Lacombe County introduces new notification system aimed at improving community safety

Apr 24, 2026 | 5:21 PM

Lacombe County announced they’ve implemented a new multi-purpose communication service called Voyent Alert!

The County says it’s been introduced to keep the community informed and safe.

Citizens can now sign up to receive notifications about fire bans, fire restrictions, and fire advisories. Furthermore, they’ll also receive notifications for construction and critical events.

Voyent Alert! uses location-based technology that delivers important information about severe weather, when fire risk level changes, road closures, public health, and other community updates.

Those who sign up will be able to set up customized personal alerts, ensuring they receive the information they need.

“Keeping residents informed is essential to building a safe and resilient community,” said Reeve John Ireland in a media release. “Voyent Alert! gives Lacombe County a reliable and modern way to share timely information with residents, whether it’s related to emergency situations or important day-to-day updates. We encourage everyone to sign up and take advantage of this valuable service.”

The County encourages everyone to sign up and take advantage of the tool. Citizens can receive notifications in several ways, including by downloading the Voyent Alert! mobile app or by signing up for text message alerts, email alerts, and voice call alerts.

“During emergencies and high-risk conditions such as fire bans or extreme weather, timely and accurate information can make a real difference,” said Manager of Fire & Emergency Management Dave Bain. “Voyent Alert! allows us to quickly share critical updates that help residents stay aware, prepared, and safe. This tool strengthens our ability to communicate when it matters most.”
