Red Deer home sales increase in March

Red Deer saw an increase in home sales in March, but they are down slightly compared to the same month last year.

According to the latest market update by the Central Alberta Realtors Association, there were 143 units sold last month, up from the 106 sold in February, but down from the 149 sold in March 2025.

The year-to-date numbers unveiled that there’s been 345 home sales over the first three months of 2026, compared to the 375 during the same time last year.

Meanwhile, the average sale price in Red Deer in March was $415,227, a decrease from the sale price of $419,795 in February. In March 2025, the average sale price was $420,816.

The number of average days to sell in Red Deer last month was 33 days, an increase from the 26 days reported in March 2025. Red Deer’s figures for March were down from the 47 average days to sell reported in February this year.

In central Alberta, there were 395 home sales in March, down from the 427 sold in the same month last year. It was also an increase compared to the 320 home sales in February this year.

Year-to-date numbers in central Alberta show there have been 978 home sales in the region in 2026 so far. This is an overall decrease compared to the 1,026 reported in the same time frame last year.

The average sale price for a home in central Alberta was $451,332 in March, an increase compared to the $433,553 in March 2025 and a decrease from $474,081 in February this year.

And the average days to sell in central Alberta in March were 48, compared to the 43 days in March 2025 and the 62 in February this year.
