A new agriculture education event is coming to Westerner Park this weekend.

Discover Ag runs April 16-18 from 10-4 at the Neeralta Pavilion.

The event will welcome more than 1,000 local Grade 5 students from both Red Deer and Red Deer County on its first two days.

The final day is open to the public.

“This program is about creating meaningful connections between young people and the land that sustains our communities,” said Shelly Flint, CEO of Westerner Park. “Agriculture is part of our foundation in Central Alberta, and giving students the chance to experience it firsthand helps build understanding, respect, and a stronger future for our industry.”

The event is slated to offer interactive exhibits and real-world experiences where students can explore modern agriculture, food systems, and the role agriculture plays in everyday life.

Discover Ag is free to attend on April 18.
