Red Deer D.R.I.V.E. has appointed Michelle Tetreault as interim CEO.

Red Deer D.R.I.V.E., which stands for Developing Regional Innovation, Ventures and Entrepreneurship, launched earlier this year as an independent economic development organization.

“Michelle brings exactly the combination of economic development expertise, stakeholder leadership, and execution discipline that Red Deer D.R.I.V.E. needs in its founding chapter,” said Peter Lacey, chair of the board.

“The level of interest in this role — 28 applicants — speaks to the confidence our community has in this organization and its potential. Michelle’s readiness to lead from day one set her apart.”

Tetreault is president of Public Works Management Corporation and has built her career bringing together government, industry, and community partners to move initiatives from concept to implementation, officials say.

She has worked within the three orders of government, has coordinated and led non-profits, and worked on major projects and programs in private consultant roles, it’s also noted.

“Red Deer is at a defining moment, and Red Deer D.R.I.V.E. represents a real opportunity to shape the long-term future of Red Deer and Central Alberta,” said Tetreault. “I’m honoured to help establish the organization’s foundation.”

Tetreault holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo and is an Envision Sustainability Professional.

D.R.I.V.E. will continue to search for a permanent CEO, a release adds.
