Red Deer RCMP have charged a 57-year-old man following an investigation into a stolen guitar.

Police say on Feb. 13 at 1:45 a.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to a break and enter at a downtown business.

Upon arrival, they determined the business had been broken into, and multiple items had been stolen, such as eight guitar foot pedals and a guitar with unique markings.

However, that same day, police found the stolen guitar and foot pedals for sale online.

This prompted a police investigation to obtain a search warrant for a vehicle and a residence in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood in Red Deer.

As a result, all of the stolen items were recovered, and the suspect, who’s a Red Deer resident, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking property obtained by crime over $5,000

A warrant for his arrest has been issued by the court.
