Blackfalds Bulldogs’ Sarts to play for Latvia at World Juniors

A Blackfalds Bulldogs player will suit up at this year’s IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Krisjanis Sarts is one of nine current and one former BCHLers taking part.

Sarts will represent his native Latvia with three others, while five will compete for Germany. A BCHL alum will play for Slovakia.

Sarts is an 18-year-old defenseman in his first season in the BCHL. He has nine assists in 27 games for the Bulldogs, who are in first place in the league’s Interior East Division.
