Friends of Guatemala concert coming up at Lacombe’s St. Andrew’s

A concert coming up in Lacombe will benefit a cause very close to the folks at St. Andrew’s United Church.

The Friends of Guatemala (FRoG) is a cause the church has supported for nearly 20 years, with concerts hosted there repeatedly.

This year’s edition, on Nov. 29, will feature two groups: the Wildrose Yodel Club and Our Friends First.

Proceeds of the concert will assist Mayan people in Guatemala with various projects.

“We have assisted with several food security projects in Guatemala,” says FRoG secretary treasurer, Doug Maas. “These projects are in small villages, and the idea is to help the people with self-sufficiency, and provide extra income for their families.”

Tickets are $20, with children 12 and under getting in free. They can be purchased at the door.
