The Lacombe Police Service have charged a 56-year-old woman from Lethbridge County following a traffic stop last month.

On Oct. 29 at approximately 3:25 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop after observing activity consistent with drug trafficking and provincial statute violations.

As a result, the driver was found to be driving the vehicle while suspended, and a search of the driver and vehicle unveiled five individually packaged bags of crack cocaine and $200 in Canadian currency. The items were seized by police.

The woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

This individual was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on December 18.

At this time, the name of the individual has been withheld pending the formal swearing of charges.
