Red Deer County welcomes new council
Red Deer County officially welcomed a new council on Tuesday.
The council of six, along with newly elected Mayor Brent Ramsay, were officially sworn in at a ceremony held in the council chambers.
During the ceremony, Ramsay, along with Lee Girard (Division 1), Kelli Ritz (Division 2), Dana Depalme (Division 3), Julie Brewster (Division 4), Carly Anna Hansen (Division 5), and Ryanna Hansen (Division 6) took their oaths of office in front of friends, family and the general public.
Ramsay, a former councillor, replaced former mayor Jim Wood following his departure. Meanwhile, the council features five new councillors, except for Depalme, who will serve her third term representing Division 3.
