Two concerts this November in First Thursday series

Oct 30, 2025 | 9:48 PM

Friends of the Red Deer Public Library PSA — The Friends of the Red Deer Public Library (Downtown Branch) are pleased to present two concerts during the month of November.

The first concert on Nov. 6 from 12:15-1 p.m. in the Snell Auditorium of the Red Deer Public Library Downtown branch features Payadora as part of their western Canada tour.

Payadora is an award-winning chamber music ensemble that performs original compositions as well as original arrangements of a core repertoire drawing from Argentinian/Uruguayan Tango and Folk music. Made up of a group of players who are each musical powerhouses in their own right, this “superstar group” has combined their deep knowledge of tango with their classical, jazz and world music backgrounds to create something entirely new.

The second concert features the Chockalingam Flute sisters on Nov. 13 from 12:15-1 p.m. in the Snell Auditorium of the Red Deer Public Library Downtown branch.

This classical bansuri (flute) performance is by Keerthana, Divyashree, and Harshita, three sisters who have been playing the bansuri (flute) for the past seven years, and began their musical journey under the guidance of Shri Dr. Raj Rangaayan in Calgary .
