Queens Soccer | Medicine Hat College | Saturday, September 6

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Soccer team defeated the Rattlers (1-1-0) by five (6-1). McKenna Leslie (Bachelor of Education), a second-year forward, led the Queens with a pair of goals. Grace Smith, Sein Furuyama, Paige Kalbfleisch and Kennedy Van Arragon added singles. Goalkeeper Jessie Stewart made five saves in the Queens’ net.

Queens Soccer | Lethbridge Polytechnic | Sunday, September 7

The RDP Queens (2-0-0) downed the Kodiaks (1-1-0) by a 2-1 margin. Red Deer’s Olivia Lundell scored both goals for RDP. Stewart turned aside four shots.

Kings Soccer | Medicine Hat College | Saturday, September 6

The Red Deer Polytechnic Kings Soccer team was blanked 2-0 by the Rattlers (2-0-0). Dylan Godbout (Business Diploma), a second-year goalkeeper from St. Albert, made six saves in the Kings’ net.

Kings Soccer | Lethbridge Polytechnic | Sunday, September 7

The RDP Kings (0-1-1) and Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks (1-0-1) played to a 1-1 draw. Njegos Bajovic, a third-year defender from Serbia, scored the Kings’ goal.

This Week in Red Deer Polytechnic Athletics

This week, the Red Deer Polytechnic Rodeo team will begin its season in Benalto, Alberta. The RDP Soccer teams will host the SAIT Trojans and then head to Calgary to face the Ambrose University Lions.

Rodeo

Central Alberta College Rodeo Team (CACRT) and RDP Rodeo Shootout | Benalto Agricultural Society | September 13-14

The Red Deer Polytechnic Rodeo team will kick off the Canadian Collegiate Rodeo Association season at the CACRT and RDP Shootout Rodeo in Benalto.

This season, the RDP Rodeo team is comprised of seven talented student-athletes. Elyse Terpsma (Barrel Racing and Pole Bending), a welding apprenticeship student, has returned to the Queens. Eckville’s Aidyn Thomas, Clyde’s Brieanna Nyal, Ponoka’s Emily Cline, Unity, Saskatchewan’s Kaybree Zunti, Hussar’s Marli Sandum and Rumsey’s Mattie Jensen have joined the squad.

On Saturday, the slack will begin at 11 am with the performance starting at 6 pm. The performance will commence at 10 am on Sunday.

Queens Soccer vs SAIT Trojans | RDP Main Field | Saturday, September 13 | 12 pm

The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Soccer team (2-0-0) will host the SAIT Trojans (2-0-0). Queens goalkeeper Jessie Stewart has an impressive 1.00 goals against average.

Queens Soccer at Ambrose University | Sunday, September 14 | 2 pm

The RDP Queens (2-0-0) will challenge the Ambrose University Lions (0-1-1) in Calgary.

Kings Soccer vs SAIT Trojans | RDP Main Field | Saturday, September 13 | 2:15 pm

The Kings Soccer team (0-1-1) will compete against the SAIT Trojans (1-0-0) at home. The Kings have
recorded 17 shots in two games.

Kings Soccer at Ambrose University | Sunday, September 14 | 4:15 pm

The RDP Kings (0-1-1) will play the Ambrose University Lions (0-1-0) on the road.
