Nominations now open for Lacombe County 2025 Environmental Stewardship Award

Lacombe County says nominations are now officially open for 2025 Environmental Stewardship Award.

Since the awards inception in 2021, the County has highlighted individuals and groups for their efforts in ecological conservation on their properties within the county.

The award, which the county will accept nominations for until Sept. 30, 2025, is open to people and non-government community organizations.

Those interested can submit nominations in person or by email to jnakonechny@lacombecounty.com.

It’s important to include the full contact information of the nominee and a detailed description of their environmental efforts.

To be eligible for the award, they must be a resident of Lacombe County and have never previously won the award.

The form for nominations can be found on the Lacombe County website and the award recipient will receive a cash prize of $1,500.

Last year, Nick Harper won the award for planting 150 native trees, pond restoration, and implementing sustainable grazing practices.
