Red Deer Rebels select Nolan Wolitski seventh overall in WHL Prospects Draft
The Red Deer Rebels bolstered their blue line on Wednesday by selecting defenceman Nolan Wolitski seventh overall in the first round of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.
Wolitski became the Rebels first seventh-overall selection since they took future captain Jayden Grubbe in 2018 and in 1998 when they picked defenceman and future Memorial Cup champion, Doug Lynch.
The St. Albert, product played for the Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 Prep team in the 2024-25 season and recorded eight goals and 40 assists for 48 points in 29 games in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. He also had 74 penalty minutes.
In the playoffs, he added seven points in five games.
