CHL Jersey Contest

Rebels unveil new jerseys designed by local youth to be worn this Friday

Feb 5, 2025 | 5:06 PM

The Red Deer Rebels announced they’ll be wearing new jerseys when they take on the Moose Jaw Warriors this Friday night at the Peavey Mart Centrium.

The new jerseys were designed by the winner of the Canadian Hockey League Jersey Design Contest, eight-year-old Beckett Brown of Red Deer.

Brown was inspired by the Rebels original jersey colours of black, silver, and white worn from 1992 to 1997. This was paired up with the classic cow skull logo the Rebels have worn since 1997 and the original Rebels skate blade logo is also featured on the shoulder.

The jerseys will be available for purchase through a silent auction starting when doors open Friday night at 6 p.m. Bids will close at the end of the second intermission.

The bidding price for each jersey will begin at $200 with a minimum bid increment of $20. Winners can pick up their jerseys at the Rebels office next week once they’ve been washed and signed.

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to President’s Choice Children’s Charity in the fight against childhood hunger.

Overall, the CHL Jersey Design Contest has raised over $600,000.

The Rebels are looking to win their third-straight contest after defeating the Regina Pats and Moose Jaw Warriors last week.
