Holiday-themed events coming to the Town of Blackfalds

Those hoping to get into the holiday spirit in Blackfalds won’t have to wait long to do so.

The 18th annual Light Up Blackfalds event will take place at Tayles Spray Park from 5 to 7 p.m.

The free event will feature entertainers, local community groups, and hot chocolate will be available by donation.

The proceeds of the event will be donated to the Blackfalds Christmas Bureau, an organization that helps those in need receive a Christmas food hamper and gift cards to help purchase Christmas presents.

The Blackfalds Food Bank will also be at the event collecting monetary donations and non-perishable food items.

On Nov. 30 the Town of Blackfalds will host a breakfast and lunch with Santa event which will take place at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the Blackfalds Community Centre.

For a $10 admission, those in attendance can enjoy a great breakfast and festive activities such as cookie decorating, holiday crafts, and a visit from Santa Claus himself.

Beginning this weekend, the Blackfalds Christmas Tour will take place each Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. until Christmas.

Residents and local businesses hoping to add their address to the Blackfalds Christmas tour map have until Nov. 28 to do so. If so, email events@blackfalds.ca. Those who enter thir address could win a prize.

The CP Holiday Train will also be returning to Blackfalds on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at Broadway Avenue and East Avenue.

Donations to the Food Bank will be accepted and those in attendance will see musical guests including Toronto-based singer Sofia Camara.
