Red Deer home sales rise in August and year-over-year

Red Deer home sales rose in August when compared to the month before, and also increased year-over-year.

According to the latest Market Report from Central Alberta Realtors Association (CARA), there were 198 home sales in Red Deer in August, up from 177 in July, and 189 during the same month last year.

Year-to-date numbers show 1,353 home sales over the first eight months of the year, up slightly from 1,329 home sales to this point in 2023.

The average sale price in Red Deer in August was $384,758, up from $368,621 in July, and $349,999 in August 2023.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 35. That’s up from 30 days in July, but down from 43 days in August of last year.
