Red Deer RCMP make arrest for stolen vehicle and weapon offences
A local man is facing several charges after the Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team spotted a man driving a stolen truck.
Red Deer resident Chad Daniel Wickett, 32, has been charged with the following:
- Possession of Unauthorized Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle
- Careless Use or Storage of a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon Contrary to an Order x 4
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5,000
- Failure to comply with order x 6
- Operation while impaired by alcohol or a drug
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with a Demand
- 26 Additional Warrants
At about 5:50 p.m. on August 15, RCMP observed a stolen truck driving within the Bower area and, with assistance from Police Dog Services and the Emergency Response Team, arrested the driver. A loaded shotgun and other weapons were allegedly located within the vehicle.
