City crews fix power outage and water main break over the long weekend
Crews with the City of Red Deer were kept busy over the Civic Holiday (August) long weekend, tending to both a power outage and water main break.
Dean Walker, senior utilities superintendent with the City of Red Deer, says there was a power outage in parts of north Red Deer, mostly in Riverside Meadows, starting around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.
He says the power was restored, however, around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4.
“It affected 900 customers. We found the issue, two power lines were touching each other, but we never did find what caused them to wrap.”
