UPDATE: Didsbury RCMP have armed suspects in custody, shelter in place now over

UPDATE: Feb. 9, 2024, 10:00 a.m.

Didsbury RCMP advise that the shelter in place has now been lifted. RCMP have the two suspects in custody.

Didsbury RCMP further advise that they ARE NOT looking for any further suspects. There is no further threat to the public.

Mounties say a more detailed media release will follow by the end of the day.

Didsbury RCMP say they are currently tracking two suspects believed to be armed with firearms, west of Carstairs.

Mounties say these two suspects are described as a man and a woman. They are believed to be on foot.

RCMP are asking residents residing between Township Road 302 and Highway 580 and between Range Road 15 and Range Road 20 to shelter in place, lock your doors, and call 911 with any sightings of suspicious persons.

Police anticipate additional updates to follow.
