In the middle frame, Red Deer’s Ollie Josephson scored his fifth goal this season with a rebound off the goaltender and through the back door. With Lind assisting the goal at 9:14, the team doubled their lead 2-0.

Medicine Hat once again slightly outshot the Rebels in the second period 9-8.

In the final period, while Red Deer’s Hunter Mayo served a cross checking penalty, the Tigers’ Gavin McKenna scored on Rebels netminder Chase Wutzke. The power play goal at 16:29 put the team on the scoreboard 2-1 behind the Rebels.

But as Medicine Hat pulled out their goaltender for the final two minutes of regulation, Red Deer’s Kai Uchacz scored his 26th goal of the season on the empty net at 18:46. Assisted by Mayo, the Rebels won 3-1.
