Decision anticipated in local homicide
A decision is expected later this year following a two-week jury trial this month for a Red Deer man charged in a local homicide.
Benjamin William Rabbit, 29, is scheduled for decision in Red Deer Court of King’s Bench on Dec. 8, 2023, following the conclusion of his jury trial on Oct. 27, 2023.
Rabbit was charged in relation to the death of another Red Deer man, and faces one count of second-degree murder.
It was on Dec. 29, 2021, when Red Deer RCMP responded to a homicide at an apartment on 55 Street in Red Deer. Upon arrival, police located a deceased 66-year-old Red Deer resident.
