Officials at Red Deer’s Westerner Park have announced that after an extensive and careful selection process, they have appointed Shelly Flint as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Westerner Park.

Officials say Flint brings with her a wealth of experience, having served as a senior executive in both the entertainment and finance sectors in Alberta for the past two decades. Her role as former CFO at the Calgary Stampede uniquely equips her to navigate the challenges and opportunities that Westerner Park presents, say Westerner Park officials. Combined with her central Alberta roots, Westerner Park says Flint is poised to lead the organization towards growth and long-term sustainability.

Says Flint: “I was thrilled at the opportunity to return to central Alberta, where I grew up. Leading this purpose-driven organization will allow me to contribute to my community and affect meaningful change.”

Tyler Nightingale, Westerner board president says the organization is thrilled to welcome Flint into the fold after their comprehensive search.

“Her extensive experience, skill set, and knowledge align seamlessly with the strategic direction of Westerner Park, ensuring a positive and enduring impact on both the organization and the community at large,” he says.

Tara Lodewyk, Red Deer City Manager adds, “Shelly immediately connected with the mission of Westerner Park and the value it brings to the culture of our city and region. We are looking forward to working together and are confident in her leadership of Westerner Park.”
