Charity Checkstop for Coats 4 Kids happening Sept. 23

The 62nd annual Charity Checkstop benefiting the Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre and Coats 4 Kids campaign is coming up Sept. 23.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Taylor Drive, just north of 32 Street.

Volunteers will be out collecting gently used or new winter clothing for kids and adults, and accepting cash donations for crime prevention.

“Last year’s Charity Checkstop saw over 500 winter items collected for families in need,” organizers say. “Central Albertans are very generous, and we hope to match or do better than 2022.”
