Red Deer Marlins 51st annual Invitational Swim Meet attracts over 165 regional athletes
The Red Deer Marlins Summer Swim Club brought 165 swimmers to their 51st annual Invitational Swim Meet this weekend; three times as many as last year.
Held at the Michener Aquatic Centre, swimmers aged 5-18, from Region D teams of the Alberta Summer Swim Association (ASSA), competed within their gender and age categories to be ranked in the top three.
Athletes came from Red Deer, Lacombe, Innisfail, Ponoka, Castor, Oyen and Hanna.
“We hope all the swim clubs enjoyed their time at the meet and achieved some personal bests for time,” said Red Deer Marlins President Lisa Driesen.
