Jun 12, 2023 | 4:14 PM

Red Deer RCMP are requesting assistance to locate the driver of a dark colored Chevrolet Equinox that was involved in a collision with a 12-year-old cyclist.

On May 18, 2023 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Mounties say a collision occurred at the intersection of 30 Avenue and 55 Street.

Police say a dark coloured Chevrolet Equinox was driving northbound on 30 Avenue and made a left turn onto 55 Street. During the turn, the Equinox struck a cyclist who was riding southbound on 30 Avenue in the cross walk.

RCMP say video footage from the City of Red Deer traffic cameras indicate the driver initially stopped to talk with the cyclist then left the scene.
