Football Alberta holding camps and games in Red Deer & Lacombe this weekend

Football Alberta will be running three levels of programming this weekend with the following events:

Team Alberta U18 Final 54 Roster Selection Camp

The final roster of 40 will be selected on June 10-11 but this camp will winnow down from 140 to the final 54 with a shot to represent Alberta this summer at the Football Canada Cup in Edmonton. The camp will be at Great Chief Park in Red Deer as follows:

Friday, May 19

7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 20
12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, May 21

9:00 a.m. – Noon

6-a-side High School All-Star Game

The best players at the 6-a-side level in Alberta will take the field at MEGlobal Athletic Park in Lacombe for their annual All-Star Game

Sunday, May 21

12:00 p.m. kickoff

Senior Bowl High School All-Star Game

The top graduating high school players in Alberta will once again have their North vs. South clash in the 33rd annual game at MEGlobal Athletic Park in Lacombe. At halftime we will be presenting the 2022 Coaching and Volunteer Awards.

Monday, May 22

12:00 p.m. kickoff

Alberta Summer Games Quarterfinal Games

The top U16 players in Alberta divided onto eight regional teams will take to the field at Great Chief Park in Red Deer. These quarterfinal games are the start of the Alberta Summer Games competition that will wind up with the final games in Okotoks on July 22 during the actual 2023 Alberta Summer Games.

Monday, May 22

10:00 a.m. – Edmonton North Elks vs. Central Alberta Huskies

1:00 p.m. – Edmonton North Golden Bears vs. Edmonton North Wildcats

4:00 p.m. – Calgary Metro Dinos vs. Southern Alberta Knights

7:00 p.m. – Calgary Metro Colts vs. Calgary Metro Stampeders

Note: Indoor facilities have been booked in case of smoke levels being two high in the areas where teams are practising, but the games will go outside. Should there be a change in the schedule it will be announced on Game Day’s for all listed above.
