Preliminary hearing scheduled for man charged in Red Deer homicide

A preliminary hearing will take place this fall for a man charged in a Red Deer murder last year.

Tyreece Evans-Goodrunning, 21, of Red Deer, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 26, 2023, to see if his case has enough evidence to go to trial.

Evans-Goodrunning is charged with second-degree murder in the Oct. 13, 2022, homicide of Brandon Loughlin of Red Deer.

It was at approximately 2:33 a.m. that day when local Mounties received a report of an unconscious male in the area of 58 Avenue and 61 Street in Red Deer. Upon arrival, police say EMS transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
