Finance Minister and Chamber discuss budget’s benefits to business owners
Alberta Finance Minister Travis Toews broke down the budget on Friday for members of the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce.
Toews says the budget helps members of the Chamber — that is to say business owners — in a number of ways, starting with what he describes as the “incredibly advantageous competitive business environment” the budget creates.
“We are maintaining that $20 billion tax advantage relative to the next nearest province. That’s huge. We should never take that for granted. It’s about continuing on the path of regulatory modernization and red tape reduction,” he says.
“There’s also the non-refundable corporate tax credit for agri-food manufacturing and processing, an investment which will be important for this region.”
