RCMP issue arrest warrant for attempted murder suspect

Central Alberta Mounties have issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of attempted murder.

On Jan. 8, 2023, Maskwacis RCMP responded to a call for service on the Louis Bull Tribe where a male was reported to have sustained serious injuries. Police say the victim was taken to hospital in serious, life threatening condition but has since recovered.

As the investigation unfolded, police were able to identify a suspect and RCMP have issued a warrant for his arrest. RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 29-year-old Jared Chad Roasting, a resident of the Maskwacis area.

Mounties say the warrant that has been issued for Roasting includes the following charges:

  • Attempted Murder
  • Aggravated assault
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization (x2)
  • Discharge air gun or air pistol with intent to endanger life

Roasting is described as having a medium complexion, 5’7” tall, 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

RCMP say Roasting is known to frequent the area of Maskwacis, but also the City of Wetaskiwin and City of Edmonton.
