Committee forms in Sylvan Lake to retain healthcare professionals; another Advanced Ambulatory Care disruption
The Town of Sylvan Lake has started a committee to help attract and retain healthcare workers in the area following a series of disruptions at the Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (SLAACS).
The SLAACS will be closed once again on January 30, from 2 – 10 p.m. due to a gap in physician coverage, according to Alberta Health Services (AHS).
AHS says the service will resume normal operation on Tuesday, January 31 from 7:30 a.m. and run until 10 p.m.
“This temporary closure is necessary as the service cannot operate without a physician onsite. Options to secure alternative coverage have been exhausted, and reducing hours is a last resort,” said AHS in a release.
