Jeremy Wotherspoon Open goes Jan. 14-15

The Jeremy Wotherspoon Open Long Track & CYLTC Qualifier is happening Jan. 14-15 at Red Deer’s Setters Place Oval (4707 Fountain Drive).

The competition is, as mentioned, a qualifier for the CYLTC — Canadian Youth Long Track Championships — which take place in Fort St. John, B.C. from Feb. 4-5.

Races start at 9 a.m. and go until about 3:30 p.m. both Jan. 14 and 15.

The event is hosted by the Red Deer Lions Speed Skating Club, whose long track season also runs through late February, weather dependent.
