Elsewhere throughout the province, the Calgary Zone has 2,815 cases of influenza with 701 hospitalizations, 75 ICU admissions and 21 deaths.

The Edmonton Zone has 2,396 cases of influenza, 511 hospitalizations, 52 ICU admissions, and 18 flu-related deaths.

The North Zone currently has 1,499 cases of influenza, 230 hospitalizations, 22 ICU admissions, and eight deaths.

The South Zone has 617 cases of influenza as of Dec. 31, with 174 hospitalizations, 19 ICU admissions, and 15 flu-related deaths.

• 1,199,430 doses of influenza vaccine have been administered in Alberta
  • 182,867 doses of influenza vaccine have been administered by AHS
  • 936,089 doses of influenza vaccine have been administered by pharmacies
  • 80,474 doses of influenza vaccine have been administered by other providers*
• 26.9% of Albertans have received an influenza vaccine
  • 65.5% of Albertans 65 years of age and older have received an influenza vaccine (419,311 doses administered)
• Previous Season:
  • This week, in the 2021-2022 season, a total of 1,140,304 doses were administered (Provincial coverage = 25.7%)
