Season Of Giving

Red Deer Hospice seeking holiday support

Dec 13, 2022 | 2:08 PM

Red Deer Hospice is seeking community support this holiday season.

Red Deer Hospice provides professional nursing care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses and are close to the end of life’s journey. Support is also provided for families and friends who are preparing to say goodbye to their loved ones.

The Hospice facility, located in the community of Anders, is designed to feel like a home away from home, with a large kitchen, cozy fireplace and many family rooms, say Hospice officials.

During the month of December, the home is filled with festive décor and joyful music.

“Our goal is to give our residents and their families one last memorable holiday together,” stated Jerri Taylor, Red Deer Hospice’s Executive Director.

On Christmas morning, residents receive a stocking, filled with an assortment of donated gifts, say Hospice officials. For dinner, Hospice chefs prepare a delicious turkey feast. Donations are said to go a long way in helping Red Deer Hospice provide the highest level of comfort and care for their residents, at no charge.

“We are very grateful for our donors and the support we have in this generous community,” said Taylor. “We hope they consider our residents and their loved ones who are spending one final holiday season together.”
