Innisfail RCMP raise $15,000+ at 26th annual Charity Checkstop

Dec 9, 2022 | 11:20 AM

The 26th annual Innisfail RCMP Charity Checkstop took place this past weekend. Due to the generosity of the community we had an excellent year raising a total of $15,735.00 in cash and cheques. Additionally, about three truckloads of high quality toys and new clothing items were collected for the Innisfail Christmas Bureau and 542.2 pounds of food were donated for the Innisfail food bank by the citizens of Innisfail and the surrounding area.

In this season of giving and celebrating we are proud to provide as much help as we can to those less fortunate.

The charitable organizations that these items will be donated to are the: Innisfail Food Bank, the Innisfail Christmas Bureau, the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and the Youth Positive Assets Coalition.

Innisfail RCMP would like to thank the following local businesses for providing donations: Nestle Purina, Central Alberta CO-OP, Canadian Pizza Unlimited, Dark Woods, Dairy Queen, Subway, D&R, Tim Hortons, Sandstone IDA, NAPA, Field & Forge, Complete Catering, and the Innisfail Legion.

We would also like to acknowledge the numerous volunteers who made this event possible. These volunteers include representatives from: the Innisfail Fire Department, the Town of Innisfail, The Town of Innisfail By-Law, Corrections Services Canada, the Innisfail Victim Services, the Christmas Bureau, the Food Bank, the Youth Positive Asset Coalition and the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre. We would also like to thank Jim Romaine for being our Santa Claus and Courtney Malone for being Safety Bear as well as providing the Christmas Music.

We hope everyone has a safe and joyous holiday season!
