Trial scheduled for Ponoka man charged in officer involved shooting
A trial is scheduled to take place next year for a man charged in an officer involved shooting in Ponoka last winter.
West Thomas Aldridge, 40, of Ponoka, is scheduled for trial in Ponoka provincial court on March 14, 2023.
Aldridge was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace on May 19, 2022. Mounties say he appeared in Wetaskiwin provincial court on May 24, 2022, and was released on conditions.
Alberta RCMP Serious Crimes Branch, with the assistance of the Central Alberta District General Investigation Section announced on May 26, 2022 that they concluded their investigation into the events leading up to an officer involved shooting in Ponoka, AB, on Feb. 10, 2022.
