Temporary closures of Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service
The Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (SLAACS) will be closed Friday, Aug. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be closed over the same timeframe Wednesday, Aug. 31 due to a gap in physician coverage.
Officials with Alberta Health Services (AHS) add, however, that the service will reopen at 3 p.m. both days until its regularly scheduled closure at 10 p.m.
Regular hours of operation (7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.) will resume on Aug. 27 and Sept. 1 respectively.
Officials say these temporary closures are necessary as the service cannot operate without a physician onsite. Options to secure alternative physician coverage are said to have been exhausted.
