Gulls happy with triumphant season, despite earlier than desired exit
More than 1,900 people were along for the last ride of 2022 as the Sylvan Lake Gulls unfortunately lost this past weekend in the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) Divisonal Finals.
The best-of-three was taken in a two-game sweep by the Okotoks Dawgs, who took the second matchup 4-3 at Pogadl Park’s H4 Stadium.
But the loss and end of the season is nothing to balk at.
Okotoks broke a single season WCBL record with 43 wins, with Sylvan Lake finishing second in the West Division with 38 wins (and 18 losses), a staggering number for a team in its first full season.
