Three-day drug operation in Olds yields seizure, police say

Jul 28, 2022 | 11:19 AM

Two people have been charged with drug-related offenses following their arrests in Olds last week.

Between July 18 and 20, Olds RCMP entered into a proactive Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) operation, in an effort to reduce drug impaired driving, they say.

In the end, more than 43 grams of suspected methamphetamine was seized from several traffic stops.

A 34-year-old Calgary woman was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a probation order. She was released and will appear in court on August 22.

A 50-year-old Mountain View County man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Charges are also pending against an adult male for possession of a controlled substance and breach of conditions, and against an adult female for possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of a release order.

Olds RCMP remind the public of the importance of reporting suspicious activity to police.
