Red Deer ratifies union agreement for electrical workers

Red Deer city council accepted and ratified on Monday a new collective agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 254.

The City says the union represents 45 inside and outside workers in the Electric Light and Power department.

The agreement is said to cover such roles as Powerline Technician, Journeyman Electrician Technician, Electrical Engineering Technologist and Designer classifications.

This new agreement is effective from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023.
