In person meeting for Red Deer city council and staff on March 28
Members of Red Deer city council and limited City staff will be back in Council Chambers for the next regular meeting on Monday, March 28.
Two years ago, council meetings shifted to a virtual format when the pandemic started, and restrictions were put in place to reduce in-person interactions to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
City officials say Monday’s meeting will be limited to council and staff to adhere to internal gathering limits of 15 people, as well as the province’s guidelines for physical distancing.
“Council Chambers is a small space that can only accommodate a limited amount of people, so we are starting with members of council and staff, including myself and those who are required to run the meeting,” said Interim City Manager Tara Lodewyk. “The physical barriers we installed early pandemic will remain, physical distancing will be maintained, and enhanced sanitizing is taking place. We are taking the transition to in-person meetings and gatherings slow to minimize the risk of any potential spread and disruption to business.”
