Lloydminster trio charged in alleged assault of Red Deer man

Three people from Lloydminster have been charged following an alleged assault in Red Deer this week.

Red Deer RCMP say it was about 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 11 when members responded to a report of a male who’d been assaulted in a home in the Highland Green neighbourhood.

When officers arrived, the injured male provided a description of three suspects and their vehicle.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, RCMP say, the suspects and suspect vehicle were located near the south Red Deer Walmart.

They were then observed travelling to the nearby TD Bank on 19 Street. There, officers arrested the three occupants of the vehicle without incident.

A 43 year-old man from Lloydminster, is charged with:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats
  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order
  • Disobeying court order
  • Failure to comply with conditions

A 31 year-old man from Lloydminster, is charged with:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats
  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order (x2)
  • Disobeying court order

A 30 year-old man from Lloydminster, is charged with:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Uttering threats
  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order

All three individuals have been remanded and are set to appear at Red Deer Provincial Court on Jan. 26, 2022.
