Red Deer Regional Health Foundation’s 12 Hour Ride for Healthcare

Jan 6, 2022 | 2:27 PM

Red Deer Regional Health Foundation is welcoming cyclists from all over Alberta to participate in their new event to support healthcare – Cycle for Central Alberta.

On Mar. 25, participants are invited to ride for 12 hours in person at Holiday Inn & Suites Red Deer South, in the comfort of their own home or outdoors.

“In 2021, a group of cyclists did a ride for fun and ended up raising $25,000,” said Manon Therriault, Chief Executive Officer of the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation. “Those funds helped us purchase medical equipment such as Sipap Ventilators, a TIMS Swallowing Station, Holter Monitors, Bladder Scanners and much more.”

Officials say the Foundation’s goal in 2022 is to double that amount and raise $50,000.

If you are interested in supporting this great community cause, but are unable to ride for the full 12 hours, the Foundation encourages you to share the bike ride and time with a team.

The registration fee is $25 per person and, if completed prior to February 18, registrants will be entered to win a Tacx Flow Smart Trainer. Space is limited at the venue, so early registration is recommended.
