Red Deer sees decline in COVID-19 case counts
The number of active COVID-19 cases in Red Deer has fallen by 24.
It’s the first time the city has seen a drop in its active case count since July 23, when active case numbers edged lower from 10 to nine. Until Tuesday, active cases had steadily increased in the community since then.
The drop in case numbers brings the total number of active cases in Red Deer now to 573, while recoveries have increased by 41 to 6,275.
The total number of coronavirus cases identified in the city since the start of the pandemic is 6,893. One new death attributed to the virus, however, has also been reported in Red Deer, bringing the city’s COVID-19 death toll to 45.
